Teaglach Woods

Posted by Whitecrook Primary in TreeAmigos

Whitecrook Primary
P6 from Whitecrook Primary had a great time at Teaglach woods with Angus. Planting trees was ace, luckily I never fell while I was jumping on the shovel. We were very lucky because we managed to glimpse the rare red kite.My favourite bit was being able to hold the cute little collie puppies, after the long and tiring walk up the hill.Oh man. If you have still to go then let the excitement build. Have a great time Adam p6

Our Day Out

Posted by Whitecrook Primary in TreeAmigos

Hi Angus, When we went to Perthshire we had a fantastic time! We went to the old Cultybraggan Army camp which is now used as an Eco Friendly centre! After that we got on the bus and went to Teaghlagh woods to have our lunch and then plant some oak trees! We had to put a tree protector over the tree and we had to hammer the stake into the ground with a mallet to to stop the tree protector from coming off! Next we had a short walk to a farm house to see the new born puppies. We did so many different things and enjoyed it all. Thank you so much! From, Scott & Robert

Hello everyone. I would like to welcome all Primary 6/7 pupils from Killermont Primary School to our page on the Trees Amigos website. In our school we are currently working towards our fourth Green Flag, which we are very proud of. Our class are currently learning about seas and oceans and we will be investigating how global warming affects these environments and the creatures that live in them.

Posted by St John Ogilvie Primary in TreeAmigos

St John Ogilvie Primary

Hey everyone! It's Callum here! For homework we have been given a quiz on Climate Change, Carbon Footprints, Global Warming, and Scottish Woodlands. We have recently been told that we will not be going to Glasgow Airport, but will be going to Teaghlach Wood, which I have seen lots of people talking about on the fourms. Anyway, we will be going tomorrow so, I can't wait!

Callum Out!

Starting out...

Posted by Clermiston in TreeAmigos

Clermiston

We have recently started the Tree Amigos topic and had our trip to Teaghlach woods a couple of weeks ago. Here are some of the things P4/5 at Clermiston have learned and enjoyed so far.

This term we are learning about The Tree Amigos! We especially enjoyed the trip to Comrie where we planted trees such as silver birch, oak, ash and rowan.  EF & JR.

We have enjoyed all of The Tree Amigos project so far and we really enjoyed the field trip! We learned that the wood on the protector had to point the way the wind was going. We are looking forward to the rest of the project! RC & HA

We have been learning about photosynthesis. Chlorophyll makes the trees green. IR & RC
